As Renée Rouleau once said, “Be good to your skin. You’ll wear it every day for the rest of your life”. It is indeed, one of the most if not the most important part of our body as it is in primary contact with our environment and the people we daily communicate and socialise with. Our skin is an open book that says the truth about how we treat it. Having skin that is treated the right way has a tremendous amount of benefits that will turn out to be a pleasant surprise later in the years when our skin (unfortunately) begins to age.
There are many ingredients that can be added to a mask to create the perfect emulsion for younger-looking, toned, illuminated and elastic skin. The best part is that you can also prepare them from the comfort of your own home, only by purchasing the correct ingredients. Today we are going to find out the incredible benefits of preparing a mask based on Spirulina and Vitamin E Oil.
Spirulina is a natural algae (cyanobacteria) that has a unique and mesmerising deep green colour and it is known for having many properties that are able to deeply nourish the skin due to the high level of amino acids, proteins and nutrients. Unlike other plants, Spirulina grows in both fresh water and salt water in the wild and is also commonly used as a dietary supplement. Skin Benefits of Spirulina: Being loaded with proteins, vitamins, minerals and fatty acids, Spirulina has a lot to offer in terms of skincare. It is beneficial for your skin in the following ways:
Spirulina has an incredible amount of properties such as Vitamin A, Vitamin B-12, and Vitamin E, Calcium, Iron, and Phosphorus. These properties are crucial for skin tone as free radicals will make your skin look tired, flabby, and dry. Spirulina will make your skin look toned and much younger!
One of the most important ingredients of Spirulina are Vitamin E, Selenium, and Tyrosine. These ingredients have been proved to be incredibly beneficial for improving and minimising the effects of ageing skin. Tyrosine is commonly known to help fight free radicals present in our environment and therefore is considered a strong anti-ageing ingredient.
Spirulina is known for its detoxifying benefits that are found in the stem from the chlorophyll present within the cells. Spirulina facilitates cell turnover and helps skin to heal faster. It eliminates toxins from the skin, prevents acne breakouts, can reduce heavy pollutants from skin, as well as increasing skin metabolism.
Spirulina is known for being a miracle treatment for dry skin around eyes and dark circles. The detoxifying effects of this algae give your eyes new energy, by removing dark shadows and dryness.
Vitamin E Oil is also a very important component in the mask we will be creating today. According to Tatiana Kononov, Revision Skincare Director of Research & Development, “Vitamin E is a highly beneficial ingredient for the skin, especially when it’s combined with other antioxidants.” Vitamin E boosts the production of collagen for maintaining skin elasticity as well as being capable of reducing the occurrence of fine lines and wrinkles that are the first signs of ageing.
So, now that you have a good understanding of the ingredients we are going to use, LET’S GET TO WORK!
Take a picture of your skin in the morning daylight on the first day before your treatment. Repeat this routine at least twice a week for a month and then take a picture of your skin after one month and be amazed!
